My work focuses on understanding each person and their relationships. I am interested in how your life experiences connect with the way you feel today, how you relate to others, and the difficulties that bring you to therapy.
I hold a degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapies. Over the course of my professional development, I have undertaken further training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, relational psychoanalysis, relational psychosomatics and couples psychotherapy in Lisbon, Madrid, Paris and Valencia.
I worked in the Mental Health Service at Hospital da Marinha Portuguesa, with military personnel and their families; at the Clínica da Juventude of Hospital D. Estefânia, with adolescents and families; and at Hospital CUF Infante Santo, where I worked with people of different ages experiencing a wide range of difficulties.
I currently work with people from adolescence onwards in psychotherapy and relational psychosomatics, and also offer couples therapy. Common reasons for seeking my help include anxiety, depression, panic, questions of identity and the experience of living with physical illness.
I place particular importance on depth and continuity in therapy. We work together towards an understanding of yourself that can become part of how you relate to others and make choices in everyday life.
I offer sessions in Portuguese and English, in person in Carcavelos and online.
